2022: A rollercoaster ride

It's been a very inventful year. They say building a startup is like a rollercoaster🎢 ?100% true. Lots of blood, sweat, and tears included.

As a first-time founder, you spend all this time working, and then you take one step forward and two steps back. It can be super demoralizing; there are days when you wonder if you'll make it through another week of banging your head against the wall trying to figure out how to get your product off the ground. But then you realize that those moments make everything worth it in the end.This year has been one of those rollercoaster rides—and I'm super excited for what's coming next in 2023 🤩

First Meetup event

We've grown our community, hosted our first in-person meetup, and made great new friends.

I still remember how nervous I was when I decided to host the meetup at the arcade. At first, I thought nobody would show up. But people started using my app to confirm attendance, which made me feel more confident that we'd have enough people there to make it worthwhile. Below you can see how GatherIn is being used by gamers. It's in beta and it works 😎

After all that time spent working on something that only existed online, it was really special for me to meet everyone in person for the first time! We had an awesome time playing retro games like Pac-Man and Street Fighter; it was like stepping back into another world! I even wrote a blog about our arcade meetup.

Meetup at ATK Esports Arena:

The next meetup will probably take place in January 2023 at the ATK Esports arena. I will share more details early next year via the GatherIn app.
